Big Changes For ONIC Esports in 2026: New Jersey, Player Updates, and More

ONIC Esports announced updates to their organization ahead of the start of the 2026 season. They held a press conference at their Super Training Facility (STF) located at Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The press conference was attended by CEO Justin Widjaja, Head of Esports Ahmad Marsam Fakhre (Mars), VP of Esports Paul Denver Lintag Miranda (Yeb), and Mobile Legends division coach Calvin Winata (CW).

The press conference addressed various updates to their organization, such as changes of personnel status, the 2026 season jersey launch, and new player signings.

We kick off with the launch of ONIC Esports’ 2026 season jersey, inspired by racing apparel such as racing jackets and crew shirts.

The “From Pole to Pavement” highlights elements often found in racing apparels worn by racing drivers and team crews. It has a polo-style collar that adorns the dry-fit shirt, which ensures a cool and snug feel during hot weather.

Another unique feature of this jersey is the addition of logo parodies, inspired by automotive brands such as AMG and Sparco.

“The world of racing is synonymous with speed, precision, and behind-the-scenes teamwork. These values align with ONIC’s competitive mentality in facing every challenge and continuing to grow as an organization,” said CEO Justin Widjaja.

The jersey is once again produced by MILLS, a local brand that has made apparel for the Indonesian national football team, Bhayangkara FC, Persita FC, and even England’s EFL Two establishment Tranmere Rovers FC.

“The speed, accuracy, and teamwork that ONIC has always held dear are translated through the visualization of this jersey design to show ONIC’s identity,” said Dari Arhan, MILLS’ Manager of Marketing.

After 3 years of service, head coach Adi Syofian Asyauri finally put down his notes for ONIC’s MLBB division. VP of Esports Yeb announced that Adi’s contract with ONIC has ended. It is said that Adi is looking out for brand-new opportunities outside of ONIC.

Adi has helped ONIC win several MPL Indonesia titles, including international tournaments such as MSC 2023 and Games of the Future 2025. Unfortunately, he has yet to win an M Series title with ONIC.

“Coach Adi has made a significant contribution to ONIC. We fully support his decision to take a break, and ONIC will always appreciate the important role he has played with the team,” added Yeb.

CW will be promoted to the position of head coach. The longtime former player for ONIC will presumably still be assisted by analyst Riyan Febriyanto (Paddington) and performance coach Nian Indah Kinanthi.

Ssamuel and Kelra as fresh crop of players

At the same time, ONIC also announced their new intake of players for their Mobile Legends division. The first one is Sam Salomo Hosyo (Ssamuel), a roamer promoted from the ONIC Prime team playing at MDL Indonesia.

Poised as backup for Nicky Fernando Pontonuwu (Kiboy), Ssamuel made his name heard when he won Liga 1 Esports Nasional 2024 with ONIC Miracle. He was then promoted to ONIC Prime and won 3rd-4th prize at MDL Indonesia seasons 11 and 12.

Started out as a rumor, ONIC confirmed that ONIC PH’s top gold laner, Grant Duane Pillas (Kelra), has been transferred to the Indonesian branch. He needs no introduction; Kelra is part of the team that kept the M6 World Championship on Philippine soil.

Kelra will become the team’s main gold laner, for reasons explained later in this article. Expectations for his performance with ONIC ID are pretty high, with fans hoping he can help boost the performance of fellow Philippine player, Kairi Ygnacio Rayosdelsol who has yet to lift an M Series trophy.

“Kelra brings international experience and a strong competitive spirit. We believe his presence will have a positive impact, both on the game and on team dynamics,” explains Yeb.

With the arrival of Kelra at ONIC’s side, the competition for the main gold laner position is pretty intense. Lucky for Kelra, other gold laners such as Schevenko David Tendean (Skylar) and Clayton Adrielo Kuswanto (Savero) are not part of the team for this season.

They are still part of ONIC but decided not to play for now. Skylar decided to take a break for personal reasons. His arrival at ONIC sparked a sensation that matched his contribution, such as the MPL Indonesia season 16 and Games of the Future 2025 titles.

“Skylar is a part of ONIC’s history. We will always appreciate his contributions, dedication, and achievements. We support his decision to take a break and believe every step he takes will lead him to his next best phase,” said Yeb.

Meanwhile, CEO Justin Widjaja added that Savero did not make it to the final roster lineup since he didn’t pass the internal trial process.
