ONIC Secured MSC 2026 Knockout Slot After Sending SRG Back Home

ONIC made sure that both Indonesian teams qualify for the MSC 2026 knockout stage after they beat Selangor Red Giants (SRG) 2-0.

While ONIC suffered a bad early phase in game 1, they did a dramatic comeback after defending relentlessly and struck a decisive counterattack.

Helped by the absence of SRG’s leading jungler Sekys, ONIC kept their momentum through the second game, controlling their opponent until the end.

“To be honest, I was really surprised. All the strong teams that were considered title contenders have been eliminated,” said Kiboy, ONIC’s roamer, in an exclusive interview with DoubleXP.

“In my opinion, this is one of the best MSC tournaments ever, the most unexpected and exciting.”

ONIC’s victory rounded out the final 8 teams moving on to the knockout stage of the MSC 2026. The tournament will now use the single elimination format, which means there will be no second chance after losing at any single point.

Speaking about the knockout stage, Kiboy is confident that all-Indonesian finals will be possible at the MSC 2026.

“I think it’s definitely possible for two Indonesian teams to make it to the finals. Nnael and Kairi are both incredibly skilled at playing assassins. And in terms of heroes and the current meta, both Team Vitality and ONIC are strong,” explains Kiboy.

MSC 2026 is once again proving that it is the most popular tournament among every game being competed in at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris. According to Esports Charts analytics, MSC 2026 has reached 2.1 million peak viewers during the group stage. This number is expected to grow further during the knockout stage.

The fight continues this Wednesday, as Team Vitality will once again be facing Team Falcons PH on July 29, and ONIC will have their revenge match against Aurora Turkiye on July 30.
