MPL ID S18 Playoffs To Be Held in Surabaya

MPL ID S18 playoffs will return to Surabaya, a city that once hosted another exciting playoff stage back in season 2.

Held at Jatim Expo Surabaya, the season 2 playoffs pitted the formidable EVOS and RRQ in the grand final. The match went one-sided to RRQ, who were fielding living legends like Lemon and Tuturu.

Surabaya will once again be returning as the playoffs host after the announcement at the season 18 opening ceremony. Tuturu, who won the season 2 finals with RRQ, presented the MPL Immortal Cup to symbolize the start of MPL ID S18.

“Surabaya and East Java are key to the growth of MLBB in Indonesia. By hosting the playoffs there, we can bring a large-scale esports experience to more fans. We see this as the beginning of a broader journey to bring MPL ID closer to communities across Indonesia,” said Martinus H. Manurung, Head of Esports Business Development from Moonton Games Indonesia.

The move is also supported by Glorya Famiela Ralahalo, Indonesia National Team Manager for PBESI. “This initiative aligns with our goal of establishing esports as a national movement, with more and more regions represented and involved in its development. The stronger the participation from various regions across Indonesia, the stronger our national esports ecosystem will be.”

Moonton has not yet announced the playoffs’ specific venue location and date, but we can expect that it will be held between late October and early November.
