Shadow Esports Experienced Shock During First FFWS SEA 2026 Spring Match

Shadow Esports had their first international match at the FFWS SEA 2026 Spring tournament. Starting out from grassroots tournaments, it was quite a difference to play amongst the best in Southeast Asia.

“It was quite tense, yes, because the meta was very different from the meta in Indonesia,” said Janes Manao, Shadow Esports coach, during a press interview session.

“The team was quite surprised, so this first week was also a learning experience for us.”

Throughout the first week and two matchdays, Shadow Esports now sits at 15th place with 110 points. They have beaten P Esports, Maqna Esports, and EVOS Divine.

It was quite a feat, considering their background. Moreover, this result was achieved through some unfavorable conditions that the team had to endure.

“On Day 2, we played passively due to several factors. We were playing aggressively on Day 1, but because several of our players weren’t feeling well, we focused on our placement on Day 2,” Janes explained.

The 4-day break will be utilized by the team to rest and strategize for the second week. That doesn’t mean that Shadow Esports will go gung-ho right away.

“For week 2, we’ll come back depending on the conditions. We’ll probably just focus on the objective. Not too aggressive, not too passive,” concluded Janes.

The second week of the FFWS SEA 2026 Spring will start on May 1 through May 3.
