Mortal Kombat II Global Tour to Visit Indonesia
Warner Bros. Pictures will host the Mortal Kombat II Global Tour in Jakarta, marking the first time the city has been selected as a destination for a major Hollywood film’s global tour.
Taking place on May 3 at Epiwalk Mall, the Jakarta event series will feature a fan event and an exclusive red carpet, offering fans the chance to get up close with the stars of one of this year’s most anticipated action films, adapted from the iconic video game.
The event will be attended by some of the cast of Mortal Kombat II: Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Max Huang.
Indonesian actor Joe Taslim returns to portray Bi-Han, a character from the Netherrealm whose journey in Mortal Kombat II takes a far darker turn than before.
Haunted by various events from his past, Bi-Han is portrayed as a tormented figure who sinks deeper into darkness, evolving into a ruthless and formidable killer. Mortal Kombat II develops his character with deeper emotional complexity, placing him at the center of an escalating conflict between different universes.
Meanwhile, Ludi Lin portrays Liu Kang, the central character who serves as the heart and moral compass of the Mortal Kombat saga. Max Huang plays Kung Lao, a highly skilled fighter and former Shaolin monk who was raised alongside Liu Kang. Tadanobu Asano plays Lord Raiden, a revered God of Thunder who serves as a guide to the champions of Earthrealm.
At the upcoming fan event and red carpet in Jakarta, the local fan community, Kombatant ID, will be participating. This certainly reflects the extraordinary enthusiasm of fans of this film in Indonesia.
“This moment isn’t just about meeting the cast but reflects how Mortal Kombat continues to evolve and remain relevant to fans across generations,” said Kiki Kai, a representative from Kombatant ID.
“Seeing Jakarta as one of the global tour locations is certainly an incredible recognition for the Indonesian community.”
Mortal Kombat II will be released in theaters and IMAX locations across Indonesia on May 6, 2026.
