Path of Exile: Mirage Will Release on March 6

Grinding Gear Games announced Path of Exile: Mirage, the version 3.28 update for the original Path of Exile game.

This expansion is scheduled to release on March 6, 2026, still in time to celebrate the Ramadan month. And why not, since Mirage has some cultural elements inspired by Middle Eastern culture and mythologies.

We summarized all the updates coming into this game and how you can utilize it to make your character stronger.

Free captured Djinns in Path of Exile: Mirage

In this update, you are heading to the desert as part of the Mirage Challenge League. There are creatures called Djinn, which are captured by the Afarud, a rogue sect of necromancers. This is where you came in.

Each time you encounter a captured Djinn, you will enter Mirage, an imperfect, astral copy of your surrounding area. Mirage will inherit all of your map modifiers, scarabs, and Atlas passives.

Before entering Mirage, you get to choose one of three wishes that will grant you buffs and modifiers. Play well, and you might get lots of great rewards inside the Mirage.

Make sure you defeat a brand-new boss as well: Saresh, of the Weeping Black. This is a new endgame boss associated with the Afarud.

Endgame updates

The endgame section for Path of Exile will receive some overhauls. You will now start from the center of Atlas and work your way outwards to the other Voidstones. You will also find generic tiered map items and choose which area on your Atlas to run them in.

There will be Arcane Astrolabes that you can use to increase your reward. Use these to shape regions of Atlas to focus on specific contents. Completing maps in these regions unlocks Memory Vaults with high-tier rewards.

Exceptional Support Gems will replace Awakened Support Gems. 40 gems are available to obtain, and they can enhance your power further in the endgame section.

New class and skills

This update also introduces Reliquarian, a new class from Scion Ascendancy. This class has passives that change every league based on the current pool of unique items, making it the most flexible and meta-shifting class in the game.

Alongside a new class, new Holy-themed gems are introduced with brand-new skills such as Holy Hammers, Divine Strike, and Holy Strike.

Also, when you defeat enemies inside Mirage, you may get Coins of Power, Skill, or Knowledge. Use these coins to corrupt a level 20 gem and imbue it with a level 1 support effect.

Path of Exile: Mirage QoL updates

Path of Exile: Mirage also introduces some quality-of-life updates. You can now “favorite” specific trades and hover over sale histories to see full item details.

Over 20 new landmark rooms and side passages have been added to the campaign to break up the leveling monotony.

Meanwhile, mechanics from Keepers of the Flame will be integrated into the core game and will replace the Breach mechanic.
