Path of Exile 2 1.0 Launches December 11, Goes Free to Play

Announced at the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Path of Exile 2 1.0 will soon become ready and will be released on December 11 this year.

The game was previously launched as an early access title for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2024. Players experienced new stories and features, with updates being implemented regularly.

Path of Exile 2 put more emphasis on boss battles with precise timings and in-depth skill utilizations. Brand-new classes and weapons were introduced, along with more than 2000 skills in the passive tree and more than 100 endgame maps.

For the full version release, Path of Exile 2 1.0 introduces the Duelist class, a gladiator who wields a sword and a shield.

This class prides itself on its fast and aggressive, yet adaptable, fighting style. A classic fighter, Duelist is a perfect class for players who prefer melee combat.

Moreover, the game will now become free to play, so everyone can enjoy this sequel. Returning players from the original Path of Exile, as well as new players, can now register to receive rewards upon launch.
