Take a Closer Look at Baroque Works in Netflix’s One Piece

The second season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece series finally takes a dig at one of their infamous antagonist groups, which is Baroque Works.

Baroque Works is one of many criminal organizations that exist in the world of One Piece. They conduct acts of espionage, sabotage, and murder.

They employ various bounty hunters and mercenaries in their ranks, with expert combatants filling the upper positions. It is estimated that they have about 2000 members in active service.

This organization runs in high secrecy. Members are assigned codenames, and bottom-up communications are prohibited. If this is your first time following up on One Piece, some of Baroque Works’ members might surprise you.

Miss All Sunday

Out of all Baroque Works’ members, Miss All Sunday is the most popular one amongst the fans. Although some of you might know her real identity, let’s humor the rest who haven’t and go along with her codename.

She is the vice president of Baroque Works, who works directly with Mr. 0, the president. Miss All Sunday is a Devil Fruit user who ate the Hana Hana no Mi. It allows her to grow and sprout parts of her body into various surfaces.

Miss All Sunday is portrayed by Lera Abova in the series. Expect to see her more in the future seasons.

Miss Wednesday

Another popular Baroque Works member is Miss Wednesday. We might see her more after this series, as she has an important role to play.

Miss Wednesday is one of Baroque Works’ frontier agents working in the field. She is a bounty hunter who worked hard to climb the organization’s ranks. She is not a Devil Fruit user, instead relying on her physical abilities and weapon mastery in combat.

Miss Wednesday is portrayed by Charithra Chandran in the series.

Mr. 3

You can tell that this man is Mr. 3 from his bizarre hairdo that forms the number 3. In any case, he is an officer agent, a rank higher than frontier agents.

Despite having weak combat potential, Mr. 0 still gave him an important rank due to his intellect and manipulating abilities. Oh, and he also ate the Doru Doru no Mi, which gave him the ability to create and control candle wax.

Mr. 3 is portrayed by David Dastmalchian in the series.

Miss Goldenweek

Another officer agent in the organization, Miss Goldenweek partnered with Mr. 3 on each assignment.

Although she’s not a Devil Fruit user, she compensates for the lack of power with her skills as a painter. Miss Goldenweek’s paint traps can manipulate her target to do anything she wants.

Miss Goldenweek is portrayed by Sophia Anne Caruso in the series.

Mr. 5

Mr. 5 is one of the lowest-ranked officer agents in the Baroque Works. Despite that, he always executed the tasks given perfectly.

His Devil Fruit, Bomu Bomu no Mi, allows him to create explosions from parts or the entirety of his body, including his bodily fluids and secretions. He is also immune to explosions caused by himself or others.

Mr. 5 is portrayed by Camrus Johnson in the series.

Miss Valentine

Alongside her partner Mr. 5, Miss Valentine is also the lowest-ranked officer agent of Baroque Works. This is because she left most of the fighting to Mr. 5, as she prefers to fight as a support.

She is a Devil Fruit user called Kiro Kiro no Mi. Miss Valentine is able to manipulate her weight after she ate the Kiro Kiro no Mi Devil Fruit. She can shift her weight from as light as 1 kilogram to as heavy as 10,000 kilograms. The potential of this ability lies with the synergy between her and Mr. 5’s abilities.

Miss Valentine is portrayed by Jazzara Jaslyn in the series.

Mr. 8

Mr. 8 joined Baroque Works the same time as Miss Wednesday. As a frontier agent, he is mainly paired with Miss Monday during assignments.

He fights using a saxophone called “Igarappa,” from which a hail of bullets shoots. Mr. 8 also hides many more firearms inside “nonconspicuous” places on his body.

Mr. 8 is portrayed by Yonda Thomas.

Mr. 9

Mr. 9 is a frontier agent who works with Miss Wednesday. He relies on his physical abilities, as he’s not a Devil Fruit user. It can be noted that he has a quite flexible body and is able to execute acrobatic movements.

His weapon of choice is a pair of steel bats with steel ropes hidden inside them. Mr. 9 is able to generate great momentum for the bats using his body so they could hit his target harder.

Mr. 9 is portrayed by Daniel Lasker in the series.

The Unluckies

The Unluckies are a team of sentient animals responsible as messengers for Mr. 0 and executors of fellow Baroque Works members who failed their mission.

The team consists of Mr. 13, an otter who is able to operate heavy weaponry and uses clawed seashells to attack.

His partner is Miss Friday, a vulture who works with Mr. 13 to drop bombs from the sky.

Are there other members of Baroque Works in Netflix’s One Piece?

There are still many more members of Baroque Works that are yet to be revealed in the second season of One Piece. Some of them may appear later in the series, while some others will debut in season 3.

Characters such as Miss Doublefinger (portrayed by Daisy Head), Mr. 1 (portrayed by Awdo Awdo), and Mr. 2 (portrayed by Cole Escola) will appear in season 3. Meanwhile, the Baroque Works’ president, Mr. 0 (portrayed by Joe Manganiello), will debut in season 2, but no photos of him were released.
