Xbox Returns to Their Console Exclusive with Gears of War and Clockwork Revolution
Following PlayStation’s decision to not continue their PC publishing releases of their first-party titles, Xbox has followed suit with their two new titles that will be restricted to Microsoft’ platform’s gaming ecosystem.
Both Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, two new games from Xbox Game Studios, are marketed as “Xbox Console Exclusive” games. Although it is said to be “console exclusive,” these two games will still find their way to the PC.
Joe Skrebels, Xbox Wire editor-in-chief, said that these two games are not timed exclusives. That means E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will not be released for PlayStation.
“Games already announced for multiplatform releases will stick to that plan—we’re committed to investing in and growing Xbox both on console and beyond,” he added.
So that means games such as Forza Horizon 6, which was announced to be releasing on PlayStation 5 at a later date, will still stick to its plans.

Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the original Gears of War made by Epic Games. It tells the story of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago, COG veterans trying to adjust to their civilian life in the city of Kalona when the Locust Horde suddenly emerged from beneath the surface.
The game will return to its roots, providing cover-based gun action in a linear setting. Players can utilize their environment to provide cover and flank their enemies.
Meanwhile, Clockwork Revolution is an action RPG game set in a Victorian-influenced cyberpunk world called Avalon. Players will take control Morgan Vanette, who has time-traveling abilities and is rising up against Avalon ruler Lady Ironwood.
In the middle of gameplay, Morgan can use the Chronometer device to return to the past and change it. This will have a great implication in the present, where even your party and the world will be affected by your past interventions.
Gears of War: E-Day will release on October 6, while Clockwork Revolution will follow later in 2027.
