Lyon Wins Free Fire EWC 2026, EVOS Relinquished Their Title

Lyon has become the new champion of Free Fire at the Esports World Cup 2026, after reaching the allotted Champions Rush point and securing a Booyah thereafter.

This match result caused a big blow for EVOS Esports, the 2025 champion directly invited in 2026, who’s unable to defend their title.

It is also a wake-up call for other Indonesian teams, RRQ Kazu and Team Vitality, for the upcoming Free Fire 2026 fall season, as they performed poorly. While they did rather well during the group stage, what came after is nothing but disappointing.

Team Vitality, who had to play through the Survival Stage, failed to qualify for the finals as they are short on points against the last qualifying team, S8UL Esports.

Meanwhile, RRQ and EVOS, who successfully qualified through the group stage, had a quiet game as they failed to complete each game in a satisfactory position and were unable to reach the Champions Rush point.

While EVOS finished second in the first game, other teams knew they were a threat. Rasyah and the team failed to adapt accordingly and struggled to collect enough points from placement.

Lyon, who went to the finals through the Survival Stage, improved their performance game by game. On game 4, we saw how dangerous they were by finishing 4th, followed by a Booyah in game 5.

On game 6, Lyon was eligible to win by achieving enough points, and then they finished what they started with a Booyah on game 7, ending the match on a happy note.

Meanwhile, AG.AL finished second in terms of total points, followed by LOUD in third place.

LYON received a prize of USD 300,000 and a direct invite to the FFWS Global Finals 2026. They also obtained the Finals MVP award through Gamezking, who received a USD 25,000 reward.
