New Imports and Indonesians Abroad: FFWS SEA 2026 Fall Fun Facts

As we drum up to the start of the FFWS SEA 2026, we have unearthed many fun facts worth knowing before you watch the tournament.

Once again, the fall season will determine which Southeast Asian teams can advance to the world stage of FFWS 2026 Global Finals.

With 5 teams fielded, Indonesia has a good chance to nab one of 8 spots of qualification. They will have to watch out for teams from other countries.

So, what’s interesting about this season, which will have the finals held in Surabaya?

Dangerous group draw

The group draw result means that the journey for the five Indonesian teams will not be an easy one. Bigetron by Vitality is in Group A, which includes Secret WAG, the defending champions from Vietnam, and Buriram United Esports from Thailand. Meanwhile, RRQ Kazu is in Group B alongside one of the strongest teams, AG.AL. Meanwhile, ONIC, EVOS Divine, and MBR Omega are grouped in Group C.

This means that when the matchday arrives at the pairing of group A-C and B-C, four Indonesian teams will duke it out on the battlefield. This matchup will determine which team is the most focused on aiming for the victory.

With ONIC being the only Indonesian team ever to win this tournament, all other four are dead set to create history.

The first-ever Thailand import in Indonesia

As we mentioned before, only two Indonesian teams decided to dabble in the transfer market for new players. EVOS Divine had Rasyah and Reyy take a break after the Esports World Cup 2026, so they recruited Faiz from Bigetron by Vitality and Ikal from Dewa United Horus on loan.

Meanwhile, ONIC made a big overhaul by moving Adam and Xyro into inactive roles, bringing back Geday, and finally signing in Poom from Team Falcons Thailand. Formerly known as Onemore, he has collected various trophies from FFWS SEA to the Esports World Cup.

The rest of the Indonesian teams, RRQ Kazu, Bigetron by Vitality, and MBR Omega, decided to keep their roster intact to maintain player chemistry.

Indonesian export to Malaysia

Indonesian players are also making moves overseas. Juann, who was once the most promising community player in the FFNS, has become the latest Indonesian player to join Team Vamos from Malaysia. There, he will team up with Azriel, an Indonesian player who previously played for RRQ Kazu and Bigetron by Vitality.

With Juann’s addition, there are now four Indonesian players set to compete with Malaysian teams at the FFWS SEA 2026 Fall. In addition to Juann and Azriel on Team VAMOS, Viruzz is playing for Maqna Esports Club, and RYUU is representing Esports Putrajaya.

The FFWS SEA 2026 Fall will begin on August 14.
