Free Fire at the Esports World Cup 2026 marks a new milestone in its competitive scene, where the tournament breaks the new record set last year.

The mobile battle royale tournament’s continuous growth can be seen through its viewership stats, which signify a positive improvement.

According to statistics published by Esports Charts, Free Fire at Esports World Cup 2026 accumulated a total of 11 million hours watched throughout its tournament, which ran from July 15 to 18.

In just four days, Free Fire was watched by an average of 444,566 viewers, with the peak of it coming during the seventh game of the grand finals, reaching 803,647 viewers.

“The Free Fire x Esports World Cup 2026 peaked at 803,647 viewers during Round 7 of the finals, when Lyon was decided as the winner. As a result, it became the mobile battle royale shooter’s most popular competition since 2022, the Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa,” said Ravi Iyer from Esports Charts.

Iyer noted that viewers from regions such as India and Southeast Asia contributed to the spike of viewers this year. It is even worth noting that the actual Free Fire game was banned in India, but its companion game, Free Fire MAX, is still available to play.

Spanish and Portuguese channels also contributed to the viewership metrics. An increase in the number of restreamers played a pivotal role in the success of Free Fire at EWC 2026.

“Additionally, the expansion of the number of slots at international events from 18 to 24 teams also helped the Free Fire x Esports World Cup 2026 break the 10 million hours watched barrier. On the list of the game’s most-watched events, the EWC 2026 lies in the sixth spot,” added Iyer.
