Selangor Red Giants Win MPL Malaysia Season 17, First Five-Peat Ever!

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 17 has drawn to a close with Selangor Red Giants (SRG) becoming the first team in the region to achieve a five-peat in MPL history.

The unprecedented achievement cements SRG’s dynasty atop Malaysian esports, sealed with a dominant 4-0 victory over Team Vamos (VMS) before a capacity crowd at Stadium Juara, Kuala Lumpur.

This victory is also important, since season 17 also marks a defining milestone as the first season under the Partnership Programme, MPL Malaysia’s long-term competitive foundation anchored by eight partner teams.

MPL Malaysia Season 17 recorded strong viewership growth, logging 25,875,943 hours watched, 740,146 peak concurrent viewers (PCV), and an average of 148,713 concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts.

Compared to Season 16, total hours watched nearly doubled, while PCV and average viewership grew by over 23% and 56.82%, respectively.

The five-day event drew a sold-out crowd of over 12,000 spectators, comprising ticketed attendees and visitors to the first-edition MPL Malaysia Festival.

Both SRG and VMS now carry Malaysia’s flag to the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 in Paris, where they will represent the nation on the global stage.
