MPL ID S17 Week 2 Day 3 Recap: RRQ Left in the Dust
RRQ Hoshi has yet to win a single match at the end of week two of MPL Indonesia Season 17. They are left at the bottom of the table with zero victory.
This comes after some bottom-ranked teams like Alter Ego and Geek Fam managed to grab their first match wins, strengthening their position at the table in the process.
With a -6 game difference (meaning RRQ lost all their matches without ever landing a single game win), RRQ has a lot of catching up to do. It’s still the second week, so RRQ still has a chance to pull a miracle.
The week 2 day 3 match recap can be read below, and all the matches can be replayed here.
Match 1: NAVI vs Alter Ego

Coach Ynot will want to return to his playbook to see if he can mix up a better strategy for NAVI, as the team suffered another loss.
Despite controlling Lord in the first game, NAVI wasn’t able to defend against Alter Ego’s snowball. Yazuke’s Leomord cuts deep through NAVI’s lines to secure the first game. It got better in the second game as Uk1r and Aprho had a good synergy as Zhuxin and Gloo, as well as the savageness of Karss’ Arlott.
With the match equalized, Cyruz chose a surprise pick, Odette, that flows very well with heroes like Nino’s Sora and Arfy’s Claude. It’s a really great combo to mess with NAVI, and Alter Ego continued their positive trend.
Match 2: RRQ vs Team Liquid

This match is like two sides of the same coin, pitting the winless RRQ Hoshi against the undefeated Team Liquid ID. Unfortunately for one side, it is a fact that will stay that way after the match ends.
The first game is pretty much one-sided as Lyoni’s Gloo had a good initiation targeting RRQ’s backline. The King of Kings is powerless to fight against it.
TLID continued their dominance in the second game with a disciplined mindset and game plan. Game two fell into TLID’s hands, and RRQ continued their losing streak.
Match 3: Bigetron vs EVOS

Bigetron by Vitality’s performance has been inconsistent as of late, but they’ll be sure to celebrate this victory over another team that has yet to realize their potential, EVOS Esports.
Alberttt took EVOS into an early lead from the first game with his on-point execution of Yi-Sun Shin. Bigetron managed to equalize the score from a pivotal moment at the Lord pit. Combined with Finn’s superb Grock gameplay, it proved to be an exhilarating game.
In the decider game, Bigetron steamrolled EVOS thanks to Moreno and Emann, who ran over their defenses. With this victory, Bigetron concluded their two-match losing streak.
