Team Redline Rebrands to Verstappen Sim Racing

In a bold move executed by the four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen, the dominant sim racing esports outfit Team Redline rebrands to Verstappen Sim Racing.

Founded in 2000 by Dom Duhan, Team Redline became one of the strongest teams in sim racing due to its connection to the motorsports industry.

Some of its players are full-time professional racing drivers from various disciplines such as Richie Stanaway, Nicky Catsburg, Kelvin van der Linde, Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Gabriel Bortoleto.

Up to this day, Team Redline has won various sim racing tournaments, such as back-to-back Esports World Cup titles in 2024-2025; PESC championships in 2022, 2024, and 2025; and the 2025 IMSA Esports Global Championship GTP.

Team Redline rebrands to Verstappen Sim Racing as part of Verstappen Racing’s master plan

In 2022, Team Redline was appointed by Max Verstappen’s Verstappen.com Racing to represent his initiative in the sim racing scene.

In the following year, Team Redline was also responsible for the esports operation of Red Bull Racing. They managed to win a third team championship in the F1 Sim Racing World Championship, as well as two drivers’ championship titles in the 2023-24 and 2025 seasons.

This close association with Max Verstappen and his Formula 1 team grows closer, so close that Verstappen, who joined the team in 2015, finally acquired the team on March 23, 2026.

The acquisition also comes with a rebrand into Verstappen Sim Racing, which will also integrate the esports team into his Verstappen Racing ecosystem. The esports players will be developed and provided a chance to step into the professional racing scene.

This isn’t just a promise but a realization of their case. In 2025, Team Redline player Chris Lulham won the 24 Hours of Spa in class and claimed Gold Cup titles in both the Endurance and Sprint championships alongside Thierry Vermeulen.

In a press release, Max Verstappen said that sim racing took most of his time outside of the track, and Team Redline was present at those times. He hopes that this rebrand will help aspiring sim racers to become professional racing drivers.

“This step for Verstappen Sim Racing feels very natural. We’re taking everything we’ve achieved and bringing it closer in line with the wider Verstappen Racing platform. I’ve always believed that sim racing can develop real talent, and we’re already seeing that with Chris Lulham,” said Verstappen.

Atze Kerkhof, the CEO of Team Redline, will continue his duty for Verstappen Sim Racing. All existing programs will still run as planned.

“Building on the legacy of Team Redline, Verstappen Sim Racing represents the next step in an era where sim racing is a true breeding ground for real-world talent. I’m excited about the future and look forward to continuing to grow and push this team forward,” said Kerkhof.

Meanwhile, the original founder, Dom Duhan, hopes that this rebrand will continue Team Redline’s dominating legacy in the sim racing esports scene.

“I’m proud to see everything Team Redline has built continue under Verstappen Sim Racing. After years of developing and guiding the team, this transition feels like a natural evolution, one that will continue to inspire and cultivate the next generation of racing talent,” added Duhan.
