Fatigue Cited As the Reason RRQ Lost at 2026 VCT Pacific Kickoff

Rex Regum Qeon might cite fatigue as the key factor that caused RRQ lost at 2026 VCT Pacific Kickoff.

In total, RRQ played five matches across 16 maps. They started at the upper bracket quarterfinals and had a great run until the upper bracket finals.

Since the finals, RRQ had a decline in performance, losing out to Nongshim RedForce 3-2 through a close but worrying match

Despite fighting hard in the middle bracket finals, the King of Kings also suffered a clean loss against T1, 3-0. The third map was a chance for RRQ to bounce back, but they were defeated through an overtime upset.

As the nail in the coffin, RRQ had to concede defeat against Paper Rex, the team that they had knocked out during the upper bracket semifinal. Paper Rex also stole RRQ’s chance to play at the VALORANT Masters Santiago, with their consolation 4th prize being a single Pacific Point.

Rex Regum Qeon player David “Xffero” Monangin congratulated the team for their effort in the tournament, as well as their rival Paper Rex, for their performance during the match.

“I’m proud of the guys, even though I feel like we played our best today, but Paper Rex is just the better team,” he said.

We asked Xffero about things that went well for the team during the 2026 VCT Pacific Kickoff, as well as things that didn’t go as planned. Here’s what he has to say.

“I think at the start we played really well as a team, like at the start of the tournament, but throughout the tournament, I think we got tired. Maybe we cannot play perfectly because we’re physically and mentally tired,” Xffero explains.

Despite the loss and missed chance, Xffero said to us that the team is now locked in for the next tournament.

He added that there are a lot of takeaways that they can act upon to improve the team’s abilities. It will make them more prepared for the upcoming 2026 VCT Pacific Stage 1.

“There are a lot of things that we can learn from Kickoff, especially the in-game part. We showed good energy towards the end, even though we played 12 maps in the last three days. It gives us more energy for the next time,” Xffero said.

The 2026 VCT Pacific Stage 1 will begin from March to May 2026.
