MPL Malaysia Season 17 Teams Announced: RRQ and Bigetron Joins the Battle
Moonton has announced the full roster of MPL Malaysia Season 17 teams, revealed during a press conference at MSN Esports Hub Kuala Lumpur just recently.
The announcement marks a new era of MPL Malaysia, which has implemented a franchise system to further develop its participating teams.
The press conference was attended by Krystal Tan, Head of Business Development for Malaysia Esports at Moonton Games, alongside Muhammad Naim Al Amin, President of the Malaysia Esports Federation, and Ahmed Faris Amir, CEO of Esports Integrated.
List of MPL Malaysia Season 17 Teams
The participating MPL Malaysia Season 17 teams consist of Malaysia’s own esports organizations, as well as international outfits from Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and other countries.
From Indonesia itself, Rex Regum Qeon and Bigetron by Vitality have been rumored to invest in a Malaysian Mobile Legends franchise ever since MPL Malaysia announced their shift into a franchise system.
All 8 teams participating in MPL Malaysia Season 17 are as follows.
- Selangor Red Giants (SRG)
- Team Vamos (VMS)
- Team Rey (TR)
- Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ)
- Bigetron MY by Vitality (BTRM)
- All Combo (AC)
- Invictus Gaming (iG)
- Team Flash (TF)
Brand-new milestone for MPL Malaysia

With the MPL Malaysia Season 17 teams finally revealed, Krystal Tan from Moonton is confident that MPL Malaysia will evolve to a new level.
“By bringing together local and international teams to compete on home soil, we are not just raising the competitive bar but shaping a stronger league that places Malaysia firmly on the global esports map—one that inspires the next generation of players and that our fans can continue to be proud of,” Krystal said.
“These eight teams were selected with the long-term growth of Malaysian esports at heart, and we are fully committed to making that vision a reality,” she continued.
Muhammad Naim Al Amin from the MESF also agreed with Krystal that the franchise system marks a new milestone for both MPL Malaysia and esports in Malaysia itself.
“It speaks to our collective ambition to position Malaysia as a regional esports powerhouse, and MESF is fully committed to supporting that journey alongside Moonton Games, as we work towards our national vision of building a sustainable esports ecosystem for generations to come,” Amin states.
The regular season phase for MPL Malaysia Season 17 begins in March 2026.
