MPL ID S17 Week 1 Day 3 Recap: ONIC and TLID Unbeatable on First Week
The first week of MPL Indonesia Season 17 has ended, leaving some fans overjoyed or dejected, depending on what their team has achieved.
Fans of Team Liquid ID and ONIC will celebrate as they went undefeated in the first week. Meanwhile, Alter Ego and RRQ Hoshi are left wondering what went wrong since they lost all their matches this week.
Meanwhile, we saw dark horses such as Natus Vincere and Dewa United shooting up to the upper level of the table by defying expectations.
Check out the recap for the third day of the first week of MPL Indonesia Season 17 below.
Match 1: Dewa United vs Bigetron

Dewa United made a splash after beating Bigetron by Vitality. Coming off fresh from their STM Derby victory against Alter Ego, the team is unprepared to defend against the underdog.
Playing Guinevere in the first game, Muezza did very well to initiate team fights for Dewa United. He executed Spatial Migration flawlessly for the team to pile on Bigetron. The solid opening from Muezza leads the team to a 1-0 advantage.
In the second game, Qinn launched a split push into Bigetron’s base, with a Lord following suit. Lynch, being the sole defender as his team was ganked, could stand his ground as Sora until the rest of the Dewa United squad arrived. The Red Robots surrendered with a final score of 2-0.
Match 2: EVOS vs Team Liquid

The Young Cavalry have proven to themselves that they are not to be messed with. After dunking NAVI, Team Liquid ID shifted their focus to the big guns, EVOS Esports.
Game 1 had a very tight contestation where both EVOS and TLID were trying to topple each other. EVOS made a miscalculation during the late game, which was exploited by Kevinn with his Leomord. TLID safely ended the first match to their lead.
The second game ran relatively short, as TLID secured a good snowball since the early game. They had no difficulty breaking EVOS’ defenses and secured a victory with no losses.
Match 3: RRQ vs ONIC

The latest Royal Derby is still being grasped by ONIC’s hands, as the team is getting unbeatable day by day. Along with Team Liquid ID, they are the only team that has yet to taste defeat.
RRQ Hoshi managed to keep up with ONIC, but the Sky King has tighter team play. Lutpiii initiated many battles well using Yuzhong and managed to gain some useful kills. His contribution made it clear that ONIC has this game for the taking.
The second game might just be one of the fastest games so far in season 17. ONIC steamrolled RRQ in a dominant fashion. Lutpiii and Kelra had a feast, spearheading the attack to secure an early victory.
