Chainsaw Man Chapter 231 Caused Stir Amongst Fans
Chainsaw Man chapter 231, the latest release from the cult manga series from Tatsuki Fujimoto, has caused turmoil among avid readers.
The story so far: Denji, in the Chainsaw Devil form, fed Asa, controlled by Yoru, his own blood, thus reviving her despite the fact that Yoru wants to turn the Chainsaw Devil into a weapon.
The reasoning is very simple: Denji just wanted to have sex with Asa because she promised it to him. Furthermore, Denji is lonely, and Asa reminded him of his friends, presumably Power.
Yoru agrees to have sex with Denji, despite hating on Chainsaw Man, and Asa gives her consent. But suddenly, a swarm of insects, along with three mysterious entities, attacks them and the rest of the world.
According to many Fumiko clones, since fertile species such as bats and roaches don’t need to cull their offspring to survive, they now attack humans for nourishment. Even worse, there’s no way for life to end now since Fami/Death Devil was eaten by the Chainsaw Devil.
Yoru urges Denji to retreat, but he fights the mysterious figures since he’s this close to having sex. Despite raring to go, Denji forgets his catchphrase and is attacked by the enemy.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 231 summary

The following summary has UNMARKED SPOILERS for Chainsaw Man Chapter 231. Please return to this post after you read the chapter. Chainsaw Man chapter 231 is available for free at Manga Plus (time-gated).
Denji woke up at a field near a tree, with Pochita standing on his chest. Pochita told Denji that they were eaten by a devil and said that their time is over.
Denji got mad since he almost had sex with Asa, but Pochita told him that was a good thing. Pochita said that deep down, Denji is still unhappy even after he went to school and met Asa.
Pochita continued that Denji was the happiest while living in poverty. In his understanding, Denji can only feel happiness when his life is full of suffering. That’s how his brain was wired.
Pochita then turns into the Chainsaw Devil, hugs Denji, and then cuts his chest. He grabs his heart and proceeds to eat it. Pochita felt gratitude towards Denji because he saw many of Denji’s dreams.
Although this will cause a world where Chainsaw Man didn’t exist, Pochita said his goodbye and asked Denji to keep on dreaming.
As Pochita’s jaw closes, the scenery shifts into a raining forest and a cabin in the middle of it.
What is actually happening?

While the chapter itself is not the cause of the turmoil, the details that came after it made people question a lot of things.
At the end of the page, a short notice was posted that said, “Final Chapter Coming 3/24.” This implies that Chainsaw Man will end on March 24, at least for the second part.
With the sudden ending announcement, fans are left confused since there are quite a few plot points that are still left unfinished. It’s also not helping that the second part of Chainsaw Man has a convoluted storyline.
What’s more interesting, the last page of the chapter got an update this morning, with the notice now changed to the usual “To Be Continued.” Granted that the last chapter will release in two weeks, but even if they posted the actual notice next week (if they still have one more chapter), it will still garner a heated discussion like today.
Despite how the story flows, Fujimoto’s decision to pull a Gainax ending is still in character for him. But it will depend on the last two chapters’ execution.
As of today’s writing, there is no announcement yet regarding the status of Chainsaw Man, whether it will continue to Part 3 or will end at that point. We will see how this story develops in the coming weeks.
