Comic Frontier 23 Returns in Halloween

Comic Frontier 23 is set to return on October 31 and November 1, 2026, featuring thousands of domestic and international doujin creators.

Comic Frontier is back for its 23rd edition at the end of October this year. Also known as Comifuro 23, the event spans across 6 halls, occupying the area from Hall 6 to Hall 10 at ICE BSD. Thousands of doujin (independent work) creators from both domestic and international backgrounds are ready to showcase their latest creations at this event.

This edition of Comic Frontier will be held on October 31 – November 1, coinciding with Halloween celebrations. This celebratory theme was chosen by Comifuro for its main illustration visual, which serves as the primary identity for this event. The illustration was created by an Indonesian illustrator under the pen name THEALAGATOR.

Every time Comic Frontier is held, it always introduces a new visual identity as its main illustration. This time, a comical chibi-style illustration—one of THEALAGATOR’s signature styles—becomes the new face of this 23rd event. In addition to being the main illustration, this visual is also adapted into various exclusive merchandise items available only at Comifuro 23.

Since its inception, Comic Frontier has served as a creative exhibition that accommodates a wide variety of creators from all over the country. One of the core values consistently upheld by this event, which has been running for over 14 years, is the participation of doujin creators—a Japanese term referring to creators who gather to form a community to pour their shared passion into a single work. In this edition, not only do domestic doujin creators participate, but international creators are also present to showcase their latest doujinshi works.

Creators participating in Comic Frontier come from diverse interests and backgrounds. Visitors can encounter creators producing various types of comic books across multiple genres, ranging from original comics to derivative fanwork comics by passionate fans celebrating their favorite fandoms. Beyond books, creators are also present to showcase their latest works in music, animation, and video games. Creators working in virtual realms, such as domestic and international Virtual YouTubers (VTubers), are also participating, combining cutting-edge technology with stunning artistic touches.

Aside from meeting doujin creators, participants of Comic Frontier 23 can also take part in various other exciting activities. Cosplay has become an inseparable part of pop culture events, including Comifuro. Cosplayers can join activities such as gatherings and participate in free coswalk sessions.

Visitors can also join free karaoke sessions during Utattemita or try their hand at being a DJ in the DJ Open Deck session. As an event that brings together thousands of creators, there will naturally be various talk shows and panels hosted by creators at the event.

These exciting activities are open to all participants at Comic Frontier 23. Further schedules regarding these activities will be announced soon through Comifuro’s official social media pages.
